Journal Selection is a jewellery and visual narrative project centred on the translation of memory, emotion, and personal experience. Drawing from everyday life, the project treats people and events that have left a lasting impression as fragments worth preserving, transforming these memories into tangible, wearable objects.
The work combines collage-based image making with jewellery design, using processes of reassembly, occlusion, and extension to explore the disjunction between lived experience and its representation. Images frequently exceed or disrupt their original boundaries, occupying a space between wholeness and fragmentation, and reflecting the instability and subjectivity of memory.
Through layered metal structures and mixed media, the project develops jewellery forms with visual depth, framing wearing as a private act of recording and commemoration. Rather than offering a fixed narrative, Journal Selection invites viewers and wearers to project their own experiences, allowing personal interpretation and emotional resonance to emerge.
